Symbol library
A flat, two-dimensional, ISA-101 high-performance-HMI symbol set in SVG, using the ISA-5.1 vocabulary engineers already read on their P&IDs. It is a designed set drawn to one hand, not a clipart pile — and it is what OrdinateDB’s model-driven displays are built from.
Quiet symbol, loud state. Every symbol is a flat grey outline at all times and never repaints itself. State — running, faulted, open — is applied by the display layer through encoding bundles (badge, luminance, shape) anchored to points each symbol declares. Legible in pure greyscale. Strokes are currentColor; the only colourable regions are declared state zones bound to CSS variables. The set is colour-vision-deficiency-safe by construction, enforced in the library’s CI rather than hoped for. Because the strokes take the page’s ink colour, the symbols below follow the site’s light and dark themes with no extra work — the same property that lets one display render correctly on a control-room wall and a handheld.
Each symbol declares its ISA-5.1 reference, its state zones, the orientations it supports, and its anchor points. A template binds a symbol to an asset once; every instance of that asset class then draws the same way. See visualisation for how displays are generated, and the asset model for where the binding lives.
Vendored from the library at the pinned revision above, so this page shows exactly the set that revision defines. The library is versioned independently and still filling out its taxonomy; what you see is what exists today, not a roadmap.
